Financial Mindset – How much money are You Really Worth?

Posted by grndstf on June 6, 2007

I spend my days working with people to teach them how to make money and every day, take a serious look at the mindset people operate from. It is very interesting to see the result of someones life as it compares to their mindset. Simply said, I can only teach people to make what they think they are worth.

First of all, let me clarify. Living a prosperous life is not really about the money, it is about the lifestyle the money provides. It is about the freedom, the choices and the options available to those who create their lives.

But the greatest challenge to me is helping people to see that the amount of money they earn is directly relevant to how much they think they are worth. I talk with people everyday who see themselves in a very small place, the challenge is to move them to see the bigger picture.

What does this mean? Let’s do a very simple exercise. Take out a piece of paper and without much thought, simply write down on that paper how much money you want to make this year. What did you write? Was it $1 Million, $500,000 or maybe even $50,000?

Whatever you wrote on that piece of paper is what you are worth (today)! Value is a perception only, so if you have the perception that you are worth $50,000 then I am sorry to inform you, that is all you are worth (at this time). But you may say… sure, but it is June and the year is half over, or, I don’t know how to make more right now, my current salary is this or this or that or whatever!

The fact is, 90% of the result is the mindset. So if you see yourself making only $50,000 then you have the mindset of making that amount. On the other hand, if you see yourself making $500,000 this year, then that is the mindset you are working with and your chances of making that amount dramatically increase.

I have said in many of my articles that making a Million Dollars is the easiest thing in the world, the hard part is DECIDING to make a Million Dollars. It is one thing to WANT a Million, but if you have not decided to make it, then you are just in a state of want and will never move past that with your current thinking. Your current thinking is responsible for where you are today, in order to move beyond where you are, you absolutely must change your thinking.

Another very important point is this…

It is not your job to figure out HOW to make the amount of money you desire, it is your job to DECIDE what that amount is. Once you make a decision, which involves a fever of desire and an unstoppable mindset, then the method will come to you, but you must DECIDE first.

Bottom line, as I said, I work with people to show them how to use a simple system to achieve financial success. But, if a person has the mindset of $50,000 then they will take this Million Dollar opportunity and make $50,000 with it. On the other hand, if they have a Million Dollar mindset and desire, they will make the Million. The other person will literally leave $950,000 on the table for someone else to make and then complain that the opportunity is not worth more than $50,000.

Think about it very seriously. What is your financial mindset? Whatever it is, is what you are worth. Let’s talk later about how to increase that mindset.

Make it a fabulous day, you deserve it.

Praise and Celebrate Your Life – The Power of Gratitude

Posted by grndstf on May 17, 2007

“The more you praise and celebrate your life, the more there is in life to celebrate.” Oprah Winfrey

This is a powerful quote and I encourage my readers to post this where they can see it everyday. Turn on the power of gratitude. Gratitude is an energy, a force, beyond all others.

You can not open the doors to receive in your life until you are grateful for what you have, and not just the things you have, but the circumstances the people, your mind, your inner power, your dreams, your desires, your life and all things touching your life. It is all a part of who you are and the future you have.

Be grateful

Prosperity and Abundance is Your Birthright – Living with Intent

Posted by grndstf on May 7, 2007

Too often, the underlying reason people never experience true prosperity in any area of life is due to their feelings of deservability. Our society has perpetuated the myth for years that successful people are mean, greedy and even untrustworthy. We have been fed the propaganda that we should not want to be wealthy and there is not enough money for everyone. Our society has told us we do not deserve to be wealthy.

I am here to tell you that is absolute hogwash! Everyone deserves to have all the success and abundance they desire. Even the Bible tells us we can have the desires of our hearts and our purpose on earth is prosperity in every area. If we have the desire within to be prosperous and successful then we have the means to achieve it. It is our birthright to have prosperity and abundance, God created the world with more than enough of everything for everyone. Everyone is born with the right to be prosperous and abundant.

What our society, media and schools do not teach us is there is more than enough money in this world for every desire. Money is endless, it is an energy that grows with use. The more we put it to work and circulate it, the more there is. It must flow and circulate to grow. One basic rule of business is if you want to increase the income from a business, you must grow the business. The same rule applies to money in general, it must be used to increase.

We are not taught how to make money, we are taught to work hard. Most highly successful people will tell you the wealth came from learning to work smart or wisely and allowing the universe to reap the returns of the effort. The hard work of creating wealth, or should I say the hardest part, is working on ourselves. Developing a prosperity consciousness and a vision of success, which therefore drives a life of intention.

A person who is truly intent on creating wealth and that intention is driven by a giving heart will experience a level of financial success that is unmeasurable and not imaginable. We are not taught that wealth in our world is proportionate to the number of people we serve, the amount of service we provide and amount of money we give away.

Look at Bill Gates for example. He is the richest man in the world, but also the greatest philanthropist in the world. He makes more because he gives more. A basic law of this world is you can not out give the amount you can receive. The more you give (with a passionate and loving heart) the more you receive.

So let’s address the greatest argument of all times about having wealth and abundance. “Money does not buy happiness”. I love this one. No, money does not buy happiness, it buys comfort. When we are comfortable, we have the time and the means to find real happiness in our lives. If this fable were true, then the poorest of poor people would be the happiest. We know this is not true. Normally when you meet a poor person who is happy, it is simply because they have given up and given in, they have settled for much less than they deserve.

My personal goal is to help as many people as possible to live the life they deserve to live, a life of prosperity and abundance in every area. I am accomplishing this goal through my business, offering a powerful program to assist in establishing a mindset of wealth consciousness and by giving generously to the missions and charities I choose. My plan is to tell as many people as I can touch about the power they have inside them, the power to have anything they desire and to empower them to achieve real goals.

I acknowledge that money is not everything but it is extraordinarily important. The best thing I can do for the poor is to not be one, therefore helping large numbers of the poor through giving and providing hope.

Write this in your journal today and put it where you can see it frequently: “I deserve to be prosperous and abundant in every area of my life”.

Now, work on those goals. Think Big, think great, think giving. Then, be intent on living the life you have defined for yourself. Include giving as a major purpose for your success. Look at what you are doing in life. Are you on the route which will take you to those huge goals? If not, then start expecting the right route to show itself, it will. There is a route for each of us, if we are intent on it revealing itself.

I will talk in other posts about how to identify your purpose when it is presented. In the mean time, make it a fabulous and prosperous day. You deserve it.

To Have Something You Have Never Had

Posted by grndstf on March 9, 2007

“To have something you have never had, you must do something you have never done”. We have all heard it, we have probably chuckled a little about it, not really taking it to heart.

I have also heard the definition of insanity as doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results. Now I am not admitting I was insane, but I did have some misconceptions about my own ability and direction.

When I first started on my journey through personal development years ago, I learned about the Law of Attraction and how important my words and thoughts were in creating my life. I set goals, focused on those goals, visualized and then went merrily on with my life, doing nothing different, but hoping for something new.

I am certain that I heard the phrase about doing something I had never done many times, but the student must be ready to change apparently. Other than my level of excitement and expectation for my future (not to mention my attitude), nothing about my external life changed at all.

I knew that I wanted to have a business but I was skeptical and “looking” for the perfect opportunity (I obviously wanted a guarantee). Over and over again, I responded to ads, discredited them, and just kept looking for the perfect answer. Nothing in my actions changed. I changed my thinking about goals, what I wanted and my attitude was different, but did not change what I was doing in any way at all.

Then I answered an ad about a business opportunity and when I started to back off, the advisor I talked to asked me two questions.

1) Have you ever had the amount of money you want to make? (Not hardly, I had huge goals)

2) Why do you think you will ever have it, if you keep doing the same things over and over and have never gotten the results you wanted previously? Adding, “at some point, you will have to take action to change your results”.

It was like a slap in the face! Yes, I had heard many times that I needed to change what I was doing to have something different but apparently it never resonated with me. This time, I got the message loud and clear. I had to take a leap of faith that God would bring me what I wanted, if only I left it up to Him and not up to me.

Realizing I could not continue on the same path, I decided to take action this time. I had put my desires out to Him, I made my desires known, I had to open the door to receive. I jumped into the opportunity with both feet, full speed ahead.

Here I am almost 3 years later and I am so grateful that my faith was redirected to God and not to me. He does bring to us exactly what we want if we will just trust Him and allow the opportunity into our lives instead of only trusting ourselves, He will provide.

God brings us our desires through various means. Mine happened to be a business opportunity. A business that allows me to do three things I have always wanted to do, live at the beach, write and help others in a big way.

I am living my purpose and my dream, simply because I was willing to do something I had never done before. Now I have what I never had before, absolute freedom! All because I took action and had faith.

To your success!

Fighting the Epic Battle To Succeed

Posted by grndstf on March 6, 2007

Success, everyone is after it, everyone wants it and everyone is looking for it. The definition of success includes such things as the “attainment of an endeavor”, but it is not that simple for most people. It is something very personal, very deep inside, a desire for something, a passion to have or to attain. Only you know what is in your heart. Only you know what will bring you the illusive feeling of “success”.

But, I am here to tell you that success is not a destination or a journey. It is not something you attain. Pursuing it will only bring you a feeling of failure. By pursuing success, you will never be able to identify it. Success will always remain illusive.

Instead, realize that success is not something you “get”, it is something you “are”. The search for success is actually an inner battle, an epic battle inside your mind and your heart that is stopping you from having what you desire. It is the classic application of the Be – Do – Have principle. In order to have success, you must first BE the successful person inside.

The only thing keeping you from success is this inner battle. It could be anger, hate, envy, jealousy, regret or any of the other negative and emotional feelings keeping you from moving forward. It is not possible to have these negative emotions and still move to a place of success. Do not let past and current circumstances define who you are.

Let go of any of the negative emotions connected to the past, they are holding you back. Claim who you are, the successful person. Find the joy in your life that will motivate this successful feeling. Joy brings confidence and confidence will encourage the feeling of success.

Rejuvenate your emotions with feelings of hope and expectation by focusing on your goals. Your goals should be bigger than you, something that will get you very excited.

Once you focus on those goals, see yourself as the person who has accomplished them. Make every decision from the place of the successful person. Simply ask yourself, if I had already reached my goal, what decision would I make in this situation.

With every decision and circumstance, you will become more confident and joyful in what you are doing. Each decision will get you closer to where you want to be and it will become easier to BE the person inside, long before you actually get to your goal.

By being the successful person, making decisions from a place of confidence and expectation, you will definitely have whatever it is you are striving to have, your goal.

This inner battle causes most people to give up in frustration, feeling as though they have failed. It is not necessary to give up. Calm the inner thoughts and focus on emotions that will move you forward. Defeat the epic battle inside your head. Quiet the monkey chatter that is holding you back.

It Does Not Take 30 Years to Become a Millionaire

Posted by grndstf on January 3, 2007

I was absolutely shocked at this article in CNN Money, explaining how to become a millionaire. The article talks about how to put yourself in a postion to be a millionaire within 30 years! http://money.cnn.com/popups/2006/moneymag/ontrack_millionaire/index.html

This is the mentality that our Corporate Leaders and Universities are poluting the world with. It is a fact that the majority of Self Made Millionaires in North America, became Millionaires in less than 5 years. Misleading people into believing that financial success can only come to an elite few, or those who are willing to save forever, is a tragedy!

Maybe we should look at the fact that corporate leaders do not want you to succeed, they want you to remain an employee, therefore having an employee or need mentality. And as for professors, how many millionaire professors do you know? They do not teach success strategies or the economics of making money, and they certainly are not financial success stories themselves as a rule. I do believe that education is extremely important today, I do not however believe that higher education is an absolute necessity to succeed financially.

The best way to learn how to make money is to learn from those making money. That is why Network Marketing creates so many millionaires. Successful people are teaching others how to have the same level of success. It is learning to work smart, not necessarily hard. It is very important to live your life while you are making your million. The old saying “you are the company you keep” is so true. To make a million dollars, start associating with people who have made a million dollars. They will teach you how.

Make it a prosperous day

Baby Boomers Beware

Posted by grndstf on January 2, 2007

Yes, I am a baby boomer. People frequently ask me why I have started a business in my mid 50’s. What an absurd question that is. My life is just beginning and I want to live it in an extreme way. There are many things I have not yet accomplished, in fact, I have a list of over 100 things yet to do in this life.

At age 53, I realized that I had very little to retire on. The attack of 911 wiped out my 401k which I actually see as a blessing now. To think that I would have even considered retiring wtih just a quarter of a million saved. How long would that have lasted?

When I started my business, I knew that continuing on the road of the “work world” would do very little at my age to give me the lifestyle I really wanted. Instead, I took the higher road, the road of creating my own life. Looking back, it is the best decision I have ever made (except for marrying my wonderful husband of course).

Baby Boomers or shall we say anyone in the world of being an employee is fooled into thinking that they will have a wonderful retirement. People get stuck in a job they hate, in a lifestyle they do not want to live but are fooled into believing they must stay there. When the real reason is FEAR (False Evidence Apparearing Real). Fear of the unknown keeps more people from stepping out and claiming their success than any other reason.

There are a million ways to make a million dollars and far easier than saving for your entire life while someone else pays you what you are worth to them. I implore you to take a long hard look at where you will be just 5 years from now on your current path.

The best way to have financial independence is to create it for yourself with a solid business model. I now make more in a month than I used to make in a year as a Call Center Manager and more in a year than I would have ever been able to save in a lifetime. Plus, I work only 20 hours per week instead of the 60 I worked prior.

You can too, it is so easy. But, the hardest part is taking action. So, Baby Boomers beware. The road to retirement is a smooth one but the retirement itself may not be. Step out of the box and grab the golden ring. I did and what a difference that made in my life.

Make it a great day and Take Action!
