Self Reflection on this Holy Day

Posted by grndstf on April 6, 2007

On this Holy day of Good Friday, I am really moved and motivated to reflect within. One of my favorite songs “Open the Eyes of my Heart” keeps coming to my mind and I know it is a message for me of opening my heart to forgiveness. This has been a week of so many emotions for me, beginning with elation and expectation, followed by total heartache and now ending with absolute gratitude and excitement.

Christ died so that each and everyone of us could be redeemed and have a place in heaven next to Him. Our God is a loving and forgiving Father who does not hold grudges or hold our past against us, He forgives everyone for everything. That is the Love that is available to everyone through Him, and the love each of us should hold in our own hearts for each other.

None of us are perfect though, only Christ is. We are human and we make mistakes. Sometimes we make bad decisions, and sometimes we hurt those we love the most. But God always forgives us and yet we rarely forgive ourselves, and even though we tell ourselves we have forgiven others, that is seldom the case.

When we are on the path to growth and personal development, we can unknowingly block the blessings and the growth we seek. Often, we are not aware of what is causing the block to occur, but it is always something within ourselves that we must deal with in order to move forward.

I have known for a long time that I was not achieving my potential, although I was being teased by it, never actually experiencing the level I knew to be available to me. I have also known the reason to be within me and something I had to deal with.

Now I realize that it is self forgiveness for mistakes that I have made. And even though those mistakes are not what others perceive, the mistake is of not speaking up about a terrible injustice and setting the record straight. I just could not speak up and accuse someone I loved of falsely accusing me and purposely hurting me. Instead of standing up for myself, I left it to others to figure out. I thought long ago that I had forgiven those involved, but failed to forgive myself for not taking care of me, in the interim. For this, I have held myself back from experiencing God’s greatest blessings and for this I forgive myself and everyone involved, totally and completely.

Why would we not forgive ourselves when God is willing to forgive us for everything? Why can we not live in the Grace that is available to us? Why must we create our own inner turmoil, simply by expecting others to accept responsibility for their words? Why must we live in anything other than joy inside when God wants to give us total peace of mind.

I am so very grateful that my life opened up to a new level this week. I am aware of so many wonderful things around me and so many wonderful people in my life. And even though, some of those people may never be an active part of my life again, I am grateful to them and love them dearly, with total forgiveness and gratitude for helping me to open the eyes of my heart and see the future clearly.

Happy Easter to everyone, in Christ’s love.

Why I Believe in "The Secret" – Answering My Nbr 1 Question

Posted by grndstf on March 12, 2007

I am frequently asked why I believe in “The Law of Attraction” or “The Secret”. So it is time to let you all know exactly why I do. First of all, this is my belief. I do not expect everyone to jump on board and support my beliefs, they are mine and I am very loyal to what I believe. My belief is the result of my own research and a lot of soul searching and has solidly planted the belief of the Law into my heart.

I have been a student of the Law of Attraction for years. I have seen it in action time and again, both in positive results and unfortunately, in negative results. By understanding how to apply the Law of Attraction in my own life, I have dramatically changed my life and my results in many areas and I have witnessed dramatic changes in others as well.

When I first heard of the “Law”, I was very skeptical. I dabbled with it, tested it on small things, watched the results of others who were applying it into their lives. But I had a lingering doubt in the back of my mind that I can only explain by saying, I was concerned that it may be against my spiritual beliefs. In other words, I was afraid it may be satanistic, or something of the occult, maybe something evil. I laugh now when I think back to those days. I never doubted that it worked, I only doubted it’s origin.

So my search for information began. My first goal, was to find scriptures that clearly defined the Law of Attraction, actually expecting to debunk it at last. But to my surprise, the reverse happened. I am a Christian and believe the Bible is the true word of God. I also believe it will provide an answer to you for any issue you have in your life.

Through my search, I have found many scriptural references which totally support the Law of Attraction. Scriptures that not only confirm it, but clearly explain how to apply it into our lives for whatever results we desire.

I believe that God puts desires in our heart and if He puts a desire in our heart, He wants to fulfill those desires. If one believes in the Bible as the true word of God, then one must believe that God wants us to have the desires of our heart.

I believe the Law of Attraction is truly the Holy Spirit at work in us. It is the power of Faith, and in that faith is the key to releasing God’s promises in our lives. One must believe that He loves us and wants us to succeed in every area.

Receipt of our desires happens only through faith and gratitude. Therefore, if you apply the Law of Attraction, letting God know what your desires are and have total Faith they will be received, then they are. “Ask and it is given” is released only by faith and gratitude.

The Law of Attraction is Faith in it’s truest sense. We have two choices of how to live our lives. They are in faith, or in fear. Both are application of the Law of Attraction. Both are believing in something you can not actually see.

When you live your life in fear (or worry) of what may happen, you are actually placing your belief or expectation into the bad things that may come to you. On the other hand, if you live your life in faith, expecting God’s blessings to come to you, absolutely nothing is impossible and the Law of Attraction, through faith, brings those promises into your life.

In my belief, that is the power behind “The Secret”. It is the power to turn on the blessings in store for each of us. Now, do I believe that only Christians can apply the Law of Attraction? Absolutely not!

Anyone can have faith to receive the desires of their heart. Just because they do not know where those blessings come from does not stop them from coming. God’s blessings are for everyone, not just for those who have a relationship with Him. His blessings are available through faith and faith alone.

This is why I know the Law of Attraction absolutely works every time.

To your success.

To Have Something You Have Never Had

Posted by grndstf on March 9, 2007

“To have something you have never had, you must do something you have never done”. We have all heard it, we have probably chuckled a little about it, not really taking it to heart.

I have also heard the definition of insanity as doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results. Now I am not admitting I was insane, but I did have some misconceptions about my own ability and direction.

When I first started on my journey through personal development years ago, I learned about the Law of Attraction and how important my words and thoughts were in creating my life. I set goals, focused on those goals, visualized and then went merrily on with my life, doing nothing different, but hoping for something new.

I am certain that I heard the phrase about doing something I had never done many times, but the student must be ready to change apparently. Other than my level of excitement and expectation for my future (not to mention my attitude), nothing about my external life changed at all.

I knew that I wanted to have a business but I was skeptical and “looking” for the perfect opportunity (I obviously wanted a guarantee). Over and over again, I responded to ads, discredited them, and just kept looking for the perfect answer. Nothing in my actions changed. I changed my thinking about goals, what I wanted and my attitude was different, but did not change what I was doing in any way at all.

Then I answered an ad about a business opportunity and when I started to back off, the advisor I talked to asked me two questions.

1) Have you ever had the amount of money you want to make? (Not hardly, I had huge goals)

2) Why do you think you will ever have it, if you keep doing the same things over and over and have never gotten the results you wanted previously? Adding, “at some point, you will have to take action to change your results”.

It was like a slap in the face! Yes, I had heard many times that I needed to change what I was doing to have something different but apparently it never resonated with me. This time, I got the message loud and clear. I had to take a leap of faith that God would bring me what I wanted, if only I left it up to Him and not up to me.

Realizing I could not continue on the same path, I decided to take action this time. I had put my desires out to Him, I made my desires known, I had to open the door to receive. I jumped into the opportunity with both feet, full speed ahead.

Here I am almost 3 years later and I am so grateful that my faith was redirected to God and not to me. He does bring to us exactly what we want if we will just trust Him and allow the opportunity into our lives instead of only trusting ourselves, He will provide.

God brings us our desires through various means. Mine happened to be a business opportunity. A business that allows me to do three things I have always wanted to do, live at the beach, write and help others in a big way.

I am living my purpose and my dream, simply because I was willing to do something I had never done before. Now I have what I never had before, absolute freedom! All because I took action and had faith.

To your success!

Fighting the Epic Battle To Succeed

Posted by grndstf on March 6, 2007

Success, everyone is after it, everyone wants it and everyone is looking for it. The definition of success includes such things as the “attainment of an endeavor”, but it is not that simple for most people. It is something very personal, very deep inside, a desire for something, a passion to have or to attain. Only you know what is in your heart. Only you know what will bring you the illusive feeling of “success”.

But, I am here to tell you that success is not a destination or a journey. It is not something you attain. Pursuing it will only bring you a feeling of failure. By pursuing success, you will never be able to identify it. Success will always remain illusive.

Instead, realize that success is not something you “get”, it is something you “are”. The search for success is actually an inner battle, an epic battle inside your mind and your heart that is stopping you from having what you desire. It is the classic application of the Be – Do – Have principle. In order to have success, you must first BE the successful person inside.

The only thing keeping you from success is this inner battle. It could be anger, hate, envy, jealousy, regret or any of the other negative and emotional feelings keeping you from moving forward. It is not possible to have these negative emotions and still move to a place of success. Do not let past and current circumstances define who you are.

Let go of any of the negative emotions connected to the past, they are holding you back. Claim who you are, the successful person. Find the joy in your life that will motivate this successful feeling. Joy brings confidence and confidence will encourage the feeling of success.

Rejuvenate your emotions with feelings of hope and expectation by focusing on your goals. Your goals should be bigger than you, something that will get you very excited.

Once you focus on those goals, see yourself as the person who has accomplished them. Make every decision from the place of the successful person. Simply ask yourself, if I had already reached my goal, what decision would I make in this situation.

With every decision and circumstance, you will become more confident and joyful in what you are doing. Each decision will get you closer to where you want to be and it will become easier to BE the person inside, long before you actually get to your goal.

By being the successful person, making decisions from a place of confidence and expectation, you will definitely have whatever it is you are striving to have, your goal.

This inner battle causes most people to give up in frustration, feeling as though they have failed. It is not necessary to give up. Calm the inner thoughts and focus on emotions that will move you forward. Defeat the epic battle inside your head. Quiet the monkey chatter that is holding you back.

The Buck Stops Within – Accept Responsibility for your Success

Posted by grndstf on February 24, 2007

The Buck Stops Within – Accept Responsibility for your Success: “We often hear the famous quote “The Buck Stops Here”, but how does that apply to your endeavor to succeed in life and in business?

When you get down to the nitty gritty of success in any area, it is everything! First of all, you must accept the fact that wherever you are in business, relationships, spiritual life or health, is a result of the choices you have made in your life. You may not have chosen the specific destination, but the choices you made along the way, have placed you exactly where you are today.

We live in a blame society, everyone wants to blame someone else for pretty much everything. This blame trend is actually disintegrating empowerment in people’s lives. No one is in control of someone else unless that person allows it to happen. “

You can only accomplish total success when you are willing to accept responsibility for yourself.

So what areas do we accept responsibility for? Very simple, everything.

1) Be responsible for every thought: Everything begins with a thought. Thoughts lead to feelings, feelings lead to actions and actions lead to results or the lack of results. So first of all, take total responsibility for what you are thinking. Your conscious mind only knows what the subconscious mind tells it. So control your thoughts, keep them positive, focused and clean of anything destructive.

2) Be responsible for your feelings or emotions: What you attract into your life is what you give energy to, or what you give emotion to. Emotion is what drives the Law of Attraction. Emotions are also what brings trouble into lives, so until you control your emotions, you will never have control over your life and your results.

3) Be responsible for your actions: Any action has a reaction. In every area of your life, if you do not control your actions then you have no control over the reaction. If you are controlling your thoughts, that will assist in controlling your emotions and in turn, the appropriate action should be easier for you to control.

4) Be responsible for your results: Everything you have in your life, everything you are in your life, everything you will ever have or will be is entirely up to you.

Take control and full responsibility for these 4 areas of your life and you will find that tomorrow will not be the same as today. The definition of insanity is to keep doing the same thing, expecting different results. In order to change the path you may be on at this time, you must accept responsibility for yourself.

I am certain you will be amazed at how enlightening it is when you focus on being responsible for yourself. We will talk at another time about letting the past go, but I must add briefly.

Once you accept responsibility for your past, you must let it go. It has no affect on where you will be in the future, unless you let it control you.

In the meantime, make it a great day, you deserve it.
