Jet Fuel for Home Business Success

Posted by grndstf on January 30, 2008

My goal is to always provide my readers with indepth “how to succeed” information. Working a home business should be fun and very gratifying, never stressful. The reason we quit our dead end jobs is so we can be home with our families and work when we choose to work, not to be worried about paying bills and making ends meet.

But too often, we let the worry of succeeding overtake the reason we left our jobs to begin with. We let the day to day stress of what to do next control us and not allow ourselves the success we deserve without the stress. So what will help to alleviate the worry and add real “jet fuel” to our level of success in our businesses?

This may sound too simple, but a great place to start is GRATITUDE. Those of us who work from home, anytime we choose and live life on our own terms have so much to be grateful for. We are home with our families, travel without a bosses approval, go to the beach anytime we want and live our life in freedom. But then again, doesn’t everyone have much to be grateful for?

We go through the process of setting our goals, using positive affirmations, visualization of our goals and then we work our business, expecting it to bring to us everything we envision. Why does this not always transpire as we expect? Why would there be anything less than outright success?

It is a very simple question with a very simple answer. We can’t possibly expect to have more when we are not grateful for what we currently have? Sure, we have all heard this, but just what is the hidden meaning inside of that question? Why do so many people say “but I am grateful for what I have and still not getting what I want”?

The answer is very simple also. Gratitude is an action, a state of being, a way of life, the way you start your day and the way you live your day and that brings you absolute happiness. It is not something you just happen to get, it is something you must feel from the heart, feel from within and truly experience.

Gratitude starts with knowing there is a reason for everything you have experienced in life. First of all, they are history and a part of the journey we encounter while finding our true and authentic selves. You must start by being grateful for anything that might be an adversity and know those are just part of your journey.

Then, just live in thanks and gratitude. Be thankful for the penny you find, for the toast that did not burn, for the coffee maker that actually came on before you got out of bed. Be grateful and truly thankful for everything. Also, understand that gratitude creates an air around you which attracts more success into your life.

A grateful heart is not something we can turn on, it is something we must nurture and develop. An easy way to do this is to start your day with a gratitude journal. Write down everything you are grateful for “today”.

Then here is the jet fuel, after listing everything you are grateful for today, list everything you are grateful for tomorrow! In other words, through gratitude, make your goals and plans known. But when writing out these intentions, list them as though you already have them, i.e. “thank you for the donation of $5000 to Make a Wish Foundation”.

Afterall, once you ask for something, through faith you should know it is done, so be grateful for it in advance.

Simply said, start your day in absolute gratitude for where you are and where you are going. It is the jet fuel to success in all areas of life and in your Home Based Business and don’t procrastinate… do it today!

To your success…

The Decision to Have Financial Freedom is Always Within Your Grasp

Posted by grndstf on January 20, 2008

Too often, people use excuses for why they are where they are in life. Either it is someone else’s fault, the economy’s fault, the company’s fault or the government’s fault. But the truth is, it is ALWAYS Their OWN Fault. We are always where we are due to decisions we made. Period!

Regardless of the circumstances in life, the decision to accept those circumstances or to fight them by changing direction, is entirely up to you. When did our society convince us that we had to accept what we were handed in life? We were all created with the ability to control our future, so when did we give that control over to other people?

This is especially true when it comes to finances. If you feel you do not have control over your finances, then take a very hard look at where your money comes from. If you are selling your time for money, or in other words, you work for someone else. Then you may not feel you have a lot of control. But get this; you chose to work where ever you work and you have chosen to accept the income you receive. If you want to change that, then you must choose better and make changes in the direction you are going.

Personally, I know many self made millionaires who literally were in the same place at some point in their lives. They just realized they would never get anywhere relying on someone else to determine their worth.

Being financially free does not have a magic formula. It does however take making a decision to make better decisions. Once you have decided you deserve more, then you change the way you are thinking in order to make better decisions.

Also, realize that no one ever became financially free without taking some risks. Oh my, there is the kicker! So many people do not want to knowingly risk anything these days. But, by choosing not to take chances, they take risks unknowingly. Think about that. By choosing to not take chances, they unknowingly take chances every day. They leave their financial future in the hands of others, assuming the other person will make wise choices for them.

Look how many times Donald Trump lost everything, only to come back stronger, richer and faster than before. He was willing to take chances for what he wanted, what he knew he deserved.

So, you want to know what it takes to have Financial Freedom? Here it is:

1) If you keep doing what you are doing, you will keep getting what you are getting. In other words, you MUST do something else.

2) Decide exactly how much money it will take to be financially free.

3) Find a business model that supports your goals. If you want to become a millionaire, then find a business model that allows you to accomplish that goal quickly (not in 20 years).

4) Mentor with people who have what you are looking for. They did it, and will normally tell you what decisions they had to make to accomplish it.

5) Be willing to take a chance. Worst case scenario, stuff is easily replaceable. What I have found is you normally get to replace stuff with better stuff anyway.

6) Just do it. Follow what your mentors advise you to do.

7) Believe in yourself. You have everything you need inside you to accomplish your greatest desires. You just have to tap into that by believing.

To your success…

Working From Home – Is it Too Good to Be True?

Posted by grndstf on January 19, 2008

I pinch myself every day. I wake up when I want (and yes, I still get up early by choice), I lounge around most of the morning reading, writing, listening to music and talking on the telephone. I then make a few business calls, plug into my companies morning wake up conference call. Then I am off to walk on the beach or just hang at the local coffee shop for a while.

The rest of my day is about the same, working about 3 or 4 hours total for the day and enjoying my life the rest of the time.

So, does this sound too good to be true. Fact is, it probably sounds boring to many people, but it is exactly what my life looks like. Why, because I choose to work from home.

I had a career in the Corporate World for many years, but just realized I was living in a trap. A trap totally controlled by other people. They decided when I worked, how long I worked, how much time I spent with my family and even how much I was worth. And, on top of that, they frequently decided I was paid too much and cut that dramatically.

Walking away from that world, which is what my husband and I both did very suddenly, was not hard at all. One might think it was difficult to do, but once we made the decision to do it, it was easy to just say goodbye. Not long afterwards, we chose to move to the coast and even that wasn’t hard to do. We just did it.

Of course it helped that we had already started our Home Based Business. Three months later, we were free of our jobs and pinching ourselves. So how did we make it happen so quickly?

We found a business with a very powerful compensation model. One that allowed us to make a very good income quickly and without a large number of sales.

Then, we followed the system the company had in place. No need to reinvent the wheel here. It was a simple system, just plug and play, that is what we did.

And the third thing, we burned the boats. We took any other option off the table. We decided not to just put our toe in the water, but to commit to our own success. We jumped in and then reaped the benefits.

Often I hear people who say, “That business just sounds too good to be true”. Well, I am sorry, but that is just too funny to me. I always ask “So, are you looking for something bad enough to be real?”

Think about it:

Too good to be true or bad enough to be real? Personally, I find the too good to be true the best option here. Something that sounds really good, certainly has a better chance of being good than something that sounds bad.

What it comes down to is that people too often are looking for an escape route before they even begin the journey. They do not want to commit to their own success, or do what it takes to be successful, so it is much easier to just say it was “too good to be true”. On the other hand, if they go with something that does not sound good to begin with, then chances are no one will notice when they fail.

Odd to me that people try harder to fail than they do to succeed.

So, working from home is wonderful and of course there are some challenges. But, most of the time, it is just too good to be true to the outside world. Especially when those of us who work from home, normally have a higher income that the person who is still under the control of a boss.

No, my business is not too good to be true, it is Truly as Good as it Gets!

Working From Home – Creating Your Future

Posted by grndstf on January 17, 2008

It is a fact, the Home Based Business arena is the fastest growing segment of our economy. Being an entrepreneur and a Home Business Owner, funny how when people ask what I do, they immediately think I am going to recruit them into “one of those” things. I have to laugh.

There was a time when I thought the same thing. That was before I realized the majority of new millionaires in the USA were from Home Based Businesses. And now, I know many of them myself. People who “got it”. People who understand about free enterprise and how to create their future.

But this is not something we are taught. We are taught, go to school, get good grades, get a good job, do as you are told and retire with a good pension. Yeah, Right! First of all, I tried that only to be fired with 28 years on the good job and no benefits or income.

So what did I do, I got real mad. Mad at myself, for not taking control of the situation earlier in my life and creating my own future. So now, looking back over the past few years, comparing where I was to where I am, it is mind boggling how far I, we have come.

Now we live where we want to live, we travel when we want, we sleep in if we choose (cold winter days), or get up early just to play on the beach any day we choose. We are free. Our phone does not ring in the middle of the night any longer and I do not have to plan my vacation based on when my boss wants me to go. Life is wonderful.

But getting to this point in life takes a few things.

1) It takes a decisionThings don’t just happen, they are created. You must decide what you are going to create
2) It takes actionYou have to move forward and action is what creates results
3) It takes knowing WhyYou must know why you do what you do. You must have somethingdriving you, something all consuming, something bigger than yourself
4) It takes clarity on your goalsIf you do not know where you are going, you will never get there. Becrystal clear on your goals.
5) And it takes a vehicleTo live free, you must have an excellent income. Make sure you have a business model which supports your goals. If your goal is to make $50k per month, make sure you have a business capable of producing that level of income very quickly.
6) It takes commitmentTo yourself, to your why and to your goals
7) And it takes good mentoringFind people who have accomplished what you are looking for and follow them. Stay close, observe and take on their habits and their posture.

So just go for it. Anyone can be free to work from home and create an amazing and abundant life. But you have to put all the pieces together. If you miss any of the pieces listed above, you will never completely reach your goal, you will end up settling.

Never settle, never give up and remember. If you are not on the right path now, change the course and go another path. But YOU have to do it, no one will do it for you.

Oh, and one more thing. Make sure to take direction only from those who have accomplished what you want.

To your success…

Does Your Business Model Support Your Income Goals?

Posted by grndstf on January 5, 2008

When you start a Home Based Business, it is very easy to get caught up in the emotion of the idea. Emotion is a wonderful thing and is the underlying factor of many success stories. However, it is critical for your success, to stop, step away from the emotion and evaluate the business model to determine if it is in line with your goals.

You should find the business model most congruent with your “goals”. If you have aggressive goals such as replacing your current income the first year or making a Million dollars within 2-3 years, these are attainable if you have the right business model. Or possibly, you just want to build something slowly and methodically and in a few years replace your income to leave your job or have extra retirement income. Any of these are attainable but depend on the business model you choose.

Let’s take a look at a few aspects of various business models and evaluate some of them.

What is a business model? It is a conceptual tool which identifies the aspects or qualities of a business, how it works, what it takes to operate and how the compensation works. Very simply said, it is the nuts and bolts of the business.

Some components to consider, from the size of the product line, profit margin on those products, retail vs non retail potential, growth potential and of course, the effort and time required to see profits based on your goals.

But let me step away for a moment to make a critical point! Only about 20% of businesses succeed. Regardless of the business, the numbers do not change very much at all. The reason is usually from lack of focused effort but also from unrealistic goals and expectation. This comes from not understanding the business model. When the business model fits with the goals you set for yourself, you dramatically increase the success rate.

Some questions to ask yourself about the business you are starting or evaluating, keeping in mind you must base this evaluation on your goals.

1) How many products will I have to be familiar with? Very important question since you must obviously know your products and be able to quickly advise a potential customer on the right product for them to purchase. Do you have the time to learn about hundreds of products?

2) What is the profit margin? Do you make $10.00, $100.00, $1,000.00 or maybe even $10,000.00 on a sale. Obviously, the higher the profit margin, the fewer customers required and the faster the potential for substantial income.

3) Does your product line appeal to a retail and a non-retail customer? In other words, who will your customer be?

4) What is the growth potential for this business? This is a “biggy“. Take a hard look at how long it will take to grow your business to meet your goals. It is very important to focus on your goals and not get caught up in the emotion of the product or the company. To accomplish your goal, you must determine if this business will get you there and are you willing to do what it takes to make it. For example, if you have a goal of $50,000 profits in your first year, is that possible with the business you are evaluating and if it is, what will be required of you to accomplish it?

5) Does the company offer a specific training program designed to reduce your learning curve? It is important to know you are not on your own.

6) Does the company offer mentoring and support? Learn from those who are having success in order to feed on the success they are experiencing.

7) Does the company offer a sales program to allow you support in closing your sales?

8) And very importantly, how much time and effort will be required? If your goal is $50,000 the first year, how many people will you need to talk to in order to make $50k? $50,000 per year equates to $961.53 per week. How many people would you have to talk to every week to make $961.53? Again, looking at your profit margin, if your profit margin is $100 per sale, then how many people would you speak to in a week to get 10 sales? The same with a $1,000 profit, how many people would you speak with for the 1 sale?

My point is very simple. I believe in very big goals, but from a reality point of view. If you have major goals, such as leaving your full time job, making $100,000 plus per year from your business, living a lifestyle of abundance, you must take a serious look and determine if your business is the appropriate route to get there.

If you “choose” to stay in a job for the next 5 years and spend the time and effort to build a business slowly, that is fine. But realize there are choices. You must stay focused on what YOU want and make sure you have a business which is congruent with those goals.

To your success…

Success vs Failure in a Home Based Business

Posted by grndstf on January 2, 2008

Recently, I was speaking to a group of Entrepreneurs when I was once again asked; “why do so many people fail at home businesses”. This is, without any doubt, the most frequent question I am asked. And, although I see the answer as very simple, I am astounded at how many people just do not “get it”.

Let’s look at the question at a deeper level (what are they really wanting to know). “Why do some people make tons of money easily and so many others make no money at all”?

The answer to that question is three things; desire, belief and commitment. Now, before you say to yourself, “here we go again”, I want to take this deeper than just the desire, belief and commitment, but into the reasons why these three answers are so important to your own success.

Anytime someone starts a home based business, the reason behind it is usually 1 of 2 things. Either they want to make extra money or they want to have time freedom. Personally, I believe the 2nd reason is the same as the first, because in order to have lots of free time and be with your family, you must be making some money!

Anyway, I have digressed.

This is what happens. You find a business you like and you get started. You either jump right in and start marketing your business or you are in an unending “ready to get ready mode”. But wait, where is your plan of success?

Did you take a serious look at what you really wanted to accomplish with your business? Did you then look at the business model to determine what it will take to get what you want from that business. Are you looking for microwave success or slow cooker success? Does this business have true potential to create a 6 figure income the first year or will it take a long time to build to that level?

What is your plan to accomplish this level of income? For example, if you are looking for just a few extra dollars and willing to put in years of time to build a highly profitable money machine, you might look at a Multi Level model. You must take into consideration how long it will take you to have what you want. Don’t get me wrong, MLM is a sound business model. But, historically, it generates income at a slow cooker pace.

Another example is Direct Sales, usually this model involves higher profit margins (these can be upwards to thousands of dollars per sale) and can create substantial income much faster with a microwave potential. Decide which model you want, and then find a company with that model.

Also look at the evidence of success for the product and company. Are there people who are getting what you want? Look at the people who are living the life you want. Did they accomplish it within months, or within years?

The fact is simple, if anyone has made what you want to make in the time you want to make it, then you can too, anybody can! I can’t stress this enough. I did not say “is everyone” getting what you want, because regardless of the business, many people will still fail, because of the points I am discussing here.

The key in business success is knowing that if anyone can do something, so can you. Now, back to the three reasons. Did you take a look at your level of belief in the business (do you really believe it can take you to where you want to go) and did you make a commitment to succeed at it?

Now get this; “Most people start a business, playing to not lose, instead of playing to win”. The difference between these two things is the underlying desire, belief and commitment.

This is exactly why 80% of businesses fail. Regardless of the venue, home businesses or brick and mortar businesses. The owners never decided to play the business game to WIN IT!

But to play to win takes those 3 elements; desire, belief and commitment. Everyone has some idea of the things they want in life. Few however, get emotionally connected to having what they want. They go through life “wanting” and what do they get, “more wanting”. The difference here, among a few others is primarily getting emotionally connected to the desire.

In order to really have something you want, you have to focus on it, give it lots of energy and lots of attention. But the emotion comes from seeing yourself already in possession of it. And the emotion is what drives the level of success. Not a negative of want, but a positive emotion of have.

So what does this have to do with the new business owner? They want to succeed (and make money) but rarely see themselves already having business success. They go through their days hoping for customers and sales, hoping for a profit and more importantly, make decisions based on hope instead of belief.

When in business, you must play to win. This means taking some chances. Look at people like Trump and Gates. Do you really think they started businesses hoping, or did they have a deep, undying belief they would be successful?

No one ever became a successful business owner or even wealthy, without taking chances. But the ability to take chances comes from belief. Belief in yourself, belief in your business, belief in your business model and your compensation plan. If there is any lack of absolute belief in any of these areas, then you are doomed.

At this point, you are unable to make good business decisions because you do not absolutely believe in your own success. Any decisions made are made out of hope, not out of belief. And, when you make decisions from hope, you are playing to “not lose”.

But what about commitment? Based on desire and belief, you then take ownership of your business. You decide to do whatever it takes to have your success (with absolute integrity of course). Most people fail simply because they give up. Of course, then come the excuses…. (that business did not work, the product was bad, the company was bad, I was scammed and on and on and on….) The only reason, if you have found the right company to meet your desires (based on compensation, product and others having what you desire) is that you gave up. Period!

There are so many stories in history of people who gave up seconds before success, inches before success on so on. In most businesses, it takes only one sale to turn the tide completely. If you bail out before that one sale appears, then you are just giving up on yourself, your desires and your dreams.

And unfortunately, when you bail on one business, you are going to bail on many until you finally “get it”. Just a brief point I feel I must share with you. When people are trying to lure you into their business with the “I tried xx amount of businesses before finding one that worked” routine. RUN, RUN FAST…. they are failures and will not be good leaders to guide and assist you in being a success. Do not buy into their excuses.

Determine what you want, how you are going to get it. Believe you will have it regardless. And then, make a commitment to yourself and your business.

Success is not hard, making money is not hard. But learning to deal with what is inside you can be. I will end with one of my favorite quotes, but do not know who coined this…. “Work a job and make a living, work on yourself and make a fortune”!

To your success…

2008 in Liberty League International

Posted by grndstf on January 1, 2008

Jerry and I want to say Happy New Year to everyone on our team and any other LLI’ers who participate in this website.

Yesterday, listening to our own associates, jumping out and talking about how amazing 2007 has been, moved me to a level I just can not put into words. This has truly been an amazing year in our LLI community. So many people making amazing changes in their lives. Sure, lots and lots of money was made, but the point is the changes to people and what our community has done for them.

Many of you are new, just getting started and looking forward to experiencing this same level of life changes and successes. What I want to make sure of, is that you truly get the “big picture”.

Yes, we are all on equal playing field here at LLI. There is no one who has an advantage over the other. We have a simple system, powerful products, brilliant training and support and a payment plan unequal to anything else available today. But do you realize that YOU ALONE, have EVERYTHING you need to see phenomenal success here?

There are a few keys here you must grasp. It does not take much “figuring out” to make multiple 6 figures. It takes a few things:

1) Plug into the system …

This system works, just the way it is. Do not try to re-invent anything or create anything new to do. Making money here is easy, if you let it be. It does not take a lot of work, just a lot of belief and a little work to get your business profitable quickly.

2) Listen to the leaders…

No where else do you have self made millionaires teaching you, guiding you and encouraging you to succeed. The leaders here share their hearts, their business and their knowledge with each and every one of you. Listen to what they say. To have what they have, you have to do what they have done and they will tell you exactly what that is.

3) Work on yourself

“Work a job, make a living. Work on yourself, make a fortune” I am not sure who said this, but it is so true. If you want something you have never had, then you must work on yourself in order to get it. USE YOUR BEYOND FREEDOM every day. It is the most powerful tool you have to create anything you want for yourself.

4) Believe in yourself.

This business is not about “trying” to succeed, or “working hard” or even living in the past. You alone, have everything you need inside you. Believe in your future, believe in what you want, know that you deserve to be successful, and believe in yourself.

5) And last….

Get your toe out of the water. If you came here to “see if it works” or to “try it for a while” then you are just wasting your time. Commit yourself to your own success. This system works, just as it is. Sometimes though, people do not work. Simply because they do not have faith and belief in their future. Jump in with both feet, follow the system and EXPECT success. To have what you truly want in life, there are no other options. You will never succeed by trying, only by DOING. When you “try” you are simply giving yourself an exit map, just in case you fail, which you truly will with that attitude.

This is the best gift I can give you to start out 2008. Just do it!

We will dedicate this blog to your success. You absolutely deserve it!
