Blog Apocalypse – What if the end of blogging came

Posted by grndstf on April 19, 2007

I have been invited by several bloggers (Alan Made to be Great, Praveen Tao of Simplicity)to participate in this interesting meme, The Blog Apocalypse offered by The Urban Monk. The reason this is so interesting to me is that not only was it created to improve blog linking, but also as a method to donate to charity. You can read more about it here, but overall, I agree with any means to give. Giving is the source of all good to come to you, so giving is necessary, therefore I feel compelled to participate.

The idea is to pretend we are at the end of blogging and to provide you with my thoughts regarding that end, so here goes:

To me, there are only two messages to give you, 1) God loves you and 2) You are empowered by God to have the life you desire.

The dreams and desires you have in life are there because our loving Father wants you to have them. You have within you the ability to have everything He has promised which is Salvation, Prosperity and Love.

Faith is the power behind these promises and through faith you can have anything because all things are possible through God.

Have Faith in your salvation and the forgiveness of your sins
Have Faith you will prosper in all areas of your life
Have Faith you will feel love and give love in all areas of your life

These are the only things important to me and the message I want you to have.

I now tag:

The Mayonnaise Jar and 2 Cups of Coffee

Posted by grndstf on April 19, 2007

This story has been around for a very long time and once again it has surfaced, the author is unknown to me. It is extremely profound so I wanted to share it with you, here goes:

A professor stood before his philosophy class and had some items in front of him. When the class began, wordlessly, he picked up a very large and empty mayonnaise jar and proceeded to fill it with golf balls. He then asked the students if the jar was full. They agreed that it was.

The professor then picked up a box of pebbles and poured them into the jar. He shook the jar lightly. The pebbles rolled into the open areas between the golf balls. He then asked the students again if the jar was full they agreed it was.

The professor next picked up a box of sand and poured it into the jar . Of course, the sand filled up everything else. He asked once more if the jar was full. The students responded with a unanimous “yes.”

The professor then produced two cups of coffee from under the table and poured the entire contents into the jar, effectively filling the empty space between the sand. The students laughed.

“Now,” said the professor, as the laughter subsided, “I want you to recognize that this jar represents your life. The golf balls are the important things- your God, family, your children, your health, your friends, and your favorite passions–things that if everything else was lost and only they remained your life would still be full.

The pebbles are the other things that matter like your job, your house, and your car. The sand is everything else — the small stuff. If you put the sand into the jar first,” he continued, “there is no room for the pebbles or the golf balls. The same goes for life. If you spend all your time and energy on the small stuff, you will never have room for the things that are important to you.

Pay attention to the things that are critical to your happiness. Play with your children. Take time to get medical checkups. Take your partner out to dinner. Play another 18. There will always be time to clean the house and fix the disposal.”

Take care of the golf balls first — the things that really matter. Set your priorities. The rest is just sand.” One of the students raised her hand and inquired what the coffee represented. The professor smiled. “I’m glad you asked. It just goes to show you that no matter how full your life may seem, there’s always room for a couple of cups of coffee with a friend.”

Isn’t this exactly what The Law of Attraction is all about? Focusing on the important things in life in order to attract more of the same. Spending little time on the unimportant things, because you certainly would not want to attract more of those things.

Live your life, to the fullest you can imagine and give powerful energy to create what is truly important to you. And, don’t forget the cup of coffee with a friend.

Plant Your Flag and Claim Your Success

Posted by grndstf on April 18, 2007

When great explorers found new territory, land, islands or even the moon, the first celebration always involved the planting of their flag. By this act, not only did they claim “the new land” but they also made the claim “I assume responsibility for the ownership of this new land”.

Have you planted your flag with your business? Have you claimed your business as your own? Have you claimed your business as your responsibility? Have your claimed the success of your business? Have you actually gotten excited about the unlimited possibilities of your business?

All are very important questions. Too often, we start businesses, especially from home and then never make the claim of success. Would an explorer have just passed by a beautiful uninhabited land and kept going, looking for the perfect land, a land with no challenges, no obstacles, looking only for a land with abundant life but no effort and no belief in the new land?

This is what new business owners do everyday. No wonder more than 80% of new home based businesses fail. There are many opportunities available to the home marketer and a very large majority of those are absolutely legitimate and offer the opportunity to achieve dreams.

The underlying factor of achieving success and experiencing failure must lie on the shoulders of the marketer. As Wallace Wattles points out in the amazing book “The Science of Getting Rich”, two people can do the same thing, in the same place, but one succeeds and the other fails. Only because the successful person “did things in a certain way”. Or as Napoleon Hill suggests in his amazing book “Think and Grow Rich”, One must operate a business as an entrepreneur instead of an employee.

When it comes to your business, the time is “NOW”. Do not wait for the perfect time, the perfect person, or the perfect teacher. Waiting will destroy your business and it will never succeed. The time is now to take action. Be the leader in your business. Apply the “certain way” to your business and of course your attitude. That “certain way” separates leaders from followers. In order to succeed at any business, you must be the leader. Leaders are irresistibly attractive to other leaders.

When you fail to be the leader, you are therefore the victim. The victim gives away all power, the victim will never succeed because no one who is looking to succeed will associate or give any authority to the word of a victim. Leaders look to work with other leaders.

So plant your flag. Claim success for your business. Read these two powerful books and apply the principles in them now, not later. Be the outrageously successful leader you truly are.

Plant your flag and claim your success today!

Be the Rhino, A Life of Purpose and Intention

Posted by grndstf on April 12, 2007

Jerry Clark, extremely well known in the Network Marketing industry for not only his success but for his powerful teachings at Club Rhino, uses the analagy of Rhinos and Cows to explain the difference in successful and unsuccessful people.

Most entrepreneurs have heard the story of The Rhino escaping from the Cow Pasture. The point of the story is, the Rhino knows where he is going and will not be misguided or held back by the beliefs of others, namely the cows.

While in the cow pasture, the Rhino has a vision of his goal, escapes and keeps on purpose for getting there. As a Rhino, he can see himself where he truly wants to be and is driven by his desires and purpose.

With Rhinos, the joy is in the journey. With consistent action, integity and the ability to do what cows will not, he creates a journey filled with joy, charging through the jungle regardless of appearances. The Rhino sees every situation as part of the journey and is grateful for the events that move him to his destination.

Cow conditioning on the other hand is giving in to the evidence of a situation. By concentrating on life’s mistakes and failures, he fails to move toward a goal simply because the route of travel is not crystal clear, smooth and guaranteed.

Rhinos get results because they, unlike cows, do not sabotage their success with inconsistency, excuses and drama. Rhinos always team up with other Rhinos, surrounding themselves with goal achievers. Rhinos play to win instead of playing “not to lose”.

You deserve to know, by making a few modifications in your thinking and your actions, you too, can be a Rhino. By taking total ownership of your results, removing any blame and moving consistently forward toward your ultimate destination, you will see yourself as the Rhino you are inside. Instead of being a cow waiting for the slaughter, take charge and create your desired outcome.

I will talk further about being a Rhino and living the Rhino life in later posts. In the meantime, when you look back to where you have been, see yourself as a Rhino who thought he was a cow, instead of a cow, living a cow’s existence.

To your success!

What We Can Learn from Don Imus

Posted by grndstf on April 10, 2007

I frequently speak of the power of our words. What we speak we bring to us, what we think we bring to us and what we feel, we bring to us. So, what does this have to do with Don Imus? His words have ignited a firestorm of opinion and uproar. His “words” have changed the direction of his life dramatically.

My point of bringing him up has absolutely nothing to do with my stand on his comments and everything to do with where I am going with my life. If I am passionate about achieving my goals and living a life of quality and abundance, it is imperative for me to totally control my words and emotions. Getting involved in somthing such as this issue, with the level of negative comments can only result in a setback for me. Any issue with such an amount of negative emotion will bring me away from my goals.

Remember, you can only move forward or backward and I choose to move forward, closer to my goals. If I were to allow myself to get involved in a verbal diatribe about this issue, it would truly move me backwards, and my goals are way too important to allow that to happen.

As a student of personal development, I know where I am going and what it will take to get there. My goal is enormous so my integrity must be enormous. My goal is powerful, so my thoughts must be powerful, my dream is vivid so my direction must be vivid. These do not include negative emotion. Getting involved in the words of a topic such as this will only hold me back. Any energy given to this would be very detrimental to achieving my goals.

The main thing we can do is to avoid getting caught up in negative energy. This is an excellent opportunity for us to practice restraint. Regardless of our stand on this issue, expressing any point of view whatsoever can be very devastating to our rate of success.

So, what can we learn from Don Imus? Very simple, regardless of the issue, our goals are greater than we are. Our desires are huge and drive us to be giants. Our dreams are real and in order for us to achieve those dreams, we are bigger than the crisis of the moment.

Take a stand for yourself, your family and your future and just let it go and move on to what is truly important to you and something you can actually do something about such as your own results and your own success.

To your success!
